Ultimate Gudie For Scammers

It sucks there are so many shady people in IM. It seems that for a lot of affiliates and product creators, the profit it really the only thing that matters.

Unfortunately, it seems almost too easy for product creators or ‘gurus' to pull a scam. I've seen this happen a couple times. The formula usually goes something like this;

  • Start blogging…be sure to mention how successful you are and include some screenshots. You might release a tool, or some good content on your blog. Be sure to include a lot of fluff about how hard you worked, and how anyone can achieve this if they work hard, believe, etc, etc.
  • After you get enough followers, it's time to release a tool. Now of course the tool doesn't need to be finished. You might have this great tool that doesn't work right but you release it anyway and then work on the ‘bugs' after you have cashed in a little.
  • Alternatively you might launch a product or course which may or may not deliver any useful content, or just enough to keep from getting a ton of refunds.

So what can you do to make sure you don't get ripped off?

  • If you can, make your purchase with American Express. They are really good about issues credit when something you bought wasn't delivered
  • Look into the background of the person your buying the course from. A Google search, and a few message boards should give you an idea how reputable the person is.
  • Ask around if anyone has first hand experience with the product.
  • If something sounds too good to be true, it is.

  1. Yea, for a big fat scam you can read the first of three posts on my experience with Stephon Rudd. I posted to the AffPortal blog at http://www.affportal.net.

    Dude took me for $1000. I outsourced him to build me a site that he said his partner Dwayne Green had built dozens of times and came with examples… Here’s the crap site I actually got once Dwayne was thrown in jail for tax evasion and Phon tried to take up the slack: http://www.find-singles-now.com.

    Now Phon is getting ready to launch a new SEO product… This site Find-Singles-Now.com is an example of his finest work in action. It get’s about one visitor every day and has yet to convert but Phon is going to try to bank on newbies looking for SEO advice.

  2. That is so true. I’m a member of the Warrior Forum and whenever I see a product that I think might be really interesting I see if there are reviews on the forum. It has saved me a lot of money. So much of the stuff is overhyped. Recent launches with software that will automate your business has often proved not to work and customer support no longer existed. I wouldn’t touch a product that doesn’t have great reviews there.
